What the bar shows

AndroidiOS

Choosing which tabs appear along the bottom, ordering them, and what happens past five.

Mediagg has more kinds of content than a bar has room for. Rather than guess which of them you use, it lets you say. Open Settings and find Tabs. Its one row, Arrange, lists what the bar holds now, in order, and pressing it opens the editor.

Choosing

The editor has two headings. In order is what is on the bar; Not in the order is everything else that could be. Tick a row to add it, untick it to remove it. What you can choose from is Home, Library, Search, and the seven Library sections — Subscriptions, Local media, Media servers, Playlists, Favourites, Downloads and History.

Settings is marked Always shown and cannot be removed, which is what keeps this screen reachable.

Ordering

On Android, drag a row by its handle to move it. On an iPhone, press Edit and then drag. The order in the list is the order along the bottom.

Past five

The bar holds five. Choose more and the rest move into a More sheet at the end. A row that has been pushed there says so — it is marked Under More.

Because More takes a slot of its own, the overflow starts one early: choose six and you get four tabs plus More.

One tab must remain. The last movable row cannot be turned off, so the bar can never end up empty.

The seven Library sections are shortcuts. A promoted tab opens the section the Library already lists — it saves two taps rather than creating a second place for the same content to live, which is how two lists of the same thing drift apart.

An arrangement naming something that is no longer there is quietly dropped. If a tab you chose has since been folded into another screen, the rest of your arrangement is kept and the unknown one is ignored rather than the whole thing being rejected.
