Downloading an episode
Keeping something on the device so it plays without a connection.
Every episode row carries a Download button. Tap it and the glyph becomes a progress ring you can tap again to stop — Stop downloading. When it finishes, the button goes away — there is nothing left to ask for.
If it fails, the button becomes an error glyph reading Download failed. Try again, and tapping it retries.
From the menu
An episode's own menu offers Download — or Download again, when something Mediagg had downloaded has since gone missing from the device — and Remove download to delete what has been fetched.
Removing a download does not unsubscribe you and does not remove the episode. It goes back to being something you stream.
What cannot be downloaded
A live stream has no file to fetch. Radio and TV stations are whatever is being broadcast right now, so they carry no download button at all rather than one that would fail.
Where downloads live
Under Downloads in the Library, which lists everything currently on the device. It is one of the sections that can be promoted onto the bar along the bottom — see What the bar shows.
Doing it without being asked
Mediagg can fetch new episodes on its own, under conditions you set. See Automatic downloads.
A progress ring that does not fill is not stuck. Where a server does not say how large a file is, the ring spins rather than filling, because a percentage nobody knows is worse than no percentage at all.
