Episodes have disappeared

AndroidiOS

Where downloaded episodes go when the space you allowed runs out, and how to keep them.

Episodes vanishing is almost always Mediagg doing what you told it to. Two settings delete things, and both are under Downloads.

The limit was reached

Keep at most puts a ceiling on how many downloaded episodes are held. When a new one arrives and the ceiling is already reached, something has to go — and When the limit is reached, delete says what.

Set Keep at most to As many as fit to stop this happening by count.

Which one went

The four policies under Making room, and what each takes. None of them ever takes a favourite:

PolicyWhat it deletes
NothingNothing is ever deleted automatically
Anything not in the queueThe oldest first; queued episodes are safe
Anything but favouritesThe oldest first, queued or not
Episodes you have finishedOnly what you have played through and is no longer queued

Favouriting an episode is the simplest way to keep it. Whichever policy is chosen, a favourite is never taken.

It went right after I finished it

With Episodes you have finished chosen, Wait after playing decides how long a finished episode is kept before it becomes eligible. Straight away means exactly that. Give it a few hours if you tend to re-listen.

The episode is still in the list, just not downloaded

Deleting a download does not unsubscribe you and does not remove the episode. It goes back to being something you stream or download again — the row stays.

Local files

Include folders on this device decides whether the same clearing-out applies to media you added from a folder rather than downloaded. Leave it off if those files are the only copy, because they are not something Mediagg can fetch again.

Nothing is a real choice. If you would rather manage space yourself, set the policy to Nothing and delete downloads by hand from the Downloads section.
