Video
Choosing whether a video opens in the mini player, the player, or full screen.
Mediagg plays video as readily as audio — from the device, from a media server, or from a video podcast. The question it has to answer is what should happen to the screen you were on when one starts.
The three answers
Open videos in, under Playback in Settings:
| Choice | What happens |
|---|---|
The mini player | Playing carries on in the bar; nothing takes over the screen |
The player | The player opens, with the picture where the artwork goes |
Full screen | The picture fills the screen |
You are asked once, while the first one plays
Nothing is chosen until the first video asks. When you play a video for the first time, Mediagg puts the question up with the video already running:
Where should videos open? — This one is playing already. Choose where the picture goes — you can change it later in Settings.
Answering records the choice and applies it immediately. Dismissing records nothing, so you are asked again next time rather than being quietly committed to an answer you did not give.
Until you answer, the Settings row shows The player — a picker cannot display "nothing", so it shows what an unanswered app would do. That is a display, not a stored choice.
Audio never triggers the question.
Full screen
Whatever the setting, a video can be taken full screen from the player. There you get:
- Brightness and volume by dragging — down the left of the picture for brightness, the right for volume, each with a readout
- A fit control that cycles

Video podcasts
A video podcast is a subscription like any other; the picture is simply there when you open the player. Everything else — the queue, downloads, chapters — works as it does for audio.
